Etsy Addicts Anonymous

As most of you know, I have an uncanny obsession with Etsy.  I totally wish you could just buy a gift card for the whole Etsy.com and use it with any seller--I would ask for one for every birthday and Christmas, hands down.  My new Etsy obsession: Mom necklaces. Judge my cheesiness if you must.

You can find these here for my birthday, Dillon ;)

I'm also really liking the embellished bobby pins I've been seeing lately.  I have at least one bobby pin in my hair every day to hold back my annoying little whimsy hairs.  I really like these and I don't think they are too "little girly" for me to wear.  At least it will make those drabby bobby pins a little cuter :)

I am anxiously awaiting the SALE of our house so I can start fantasizing about house decor and such. I'll give you a sneak peak of some preliminary ideas in my next post.

Stupid People

I am sitting here on Kenwood's Mother's Day Out day trying not to judge the stupid people that stole my purse right out of my unlocked car last night while we were at dinner.  Yes, I admit my own stupidity of leaving my purse in the car and not locking it. BUT, I would also like to point out that had I actually locked my car, they would have busted my window to get that stupid purse.  How do I know this? Because, another lady got broken into, and they bashed her window like a bunch of thugs.  Not judging. They obviously needed what was in there a whole lot more than us.  I sure hope they spent that $1 in my wallet on something worth it! Thankfully they didn't move fast enough to use my credit cards or write any checks before we got everything cancelled....who's the sucker now?

But, what I'm really upset about is the fact that they took my son's favorite blankie.  The one he sleeps with EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT and drags around the house when he's ready to go "night, night".  So, in my midst of cancelling all my accounts and getting a new driver's license and trying desperately not to judge the poor people who obviously needed my son's warm blanket for they're night of homelessness on the street- I am scouring good 'ol Etsy to track down a blanket that is similar in fashion and texture to the old one. And, the God's of Etsy are looking down on us because I think I found just that, HERE.

His old blankie was chocolate swirl minky backed with a camo minky fabric and a blue satin ruffle around the edges.  This is the closest I could find:

It's identical except for our's had a blue ruffle around the edges- this just might work!!!!

I also found a few more with the exact texture but different prints.  I'm thinking about changing up the design for our little guy, it'll still FEEL the same, right? I need help deciding, which is your favorite? (the original is still an option too!)

Girl Crazy

Don't get me wrong, I love my little boy more than life itself...but oh my goodness it's SO FUN shopping for a little girl!  Little boys are super easy, they wear tshirts, jeans, and shorts...and an occasional polo shirt here and there.  But with little girls, the clothing options are almost endless!! I haven't bought anything yet, but trust me -- I plan to!  Here are just a few of my MUST-HAVES from my favorite online stores on the planet: the wonderful Etsy.com.

I have no doubt in my mind that we will have a little bald baby just like Kenwood (who is still mostly bald by the way at 20months) so, I plan on having plenty of headbands available for me to stick obscenely large bows and flowers on.  Yes, my sweet Olivia will likely get called a "Bow-Head" until she's at least in Middle School, because Mommy LOVES bows :)  This is one of my favorites I've seen, I love the skinny elastic headband versus the chunky knitted ones.  This is a must-have.

Leg warmers, yes please!  Since Olivia will be here in the wee-hours of the winter months I plan on lots of long-sleeved onesies paired with these darling leg warmers for quick and easy mid-night and mid-morning diaper changes- not to mention their just plain adorable.
Some Etsy stores even have cute ones for boys....but I'm pretty sure Dillon would nix that purchase :)

I never had shoes on Kenwood until he walked, but these are pretty cute options versus plain old socks to keep those little tootsies warm on our outings to lunch or the mall or grocery store.

Bloomers are a must with little girls...this one might be a little "poofy" for under a dress or skirt, but it sure looks darn cute to run around the house in the crawling months that will soon approach us when the weather is nice enough to wear this little frock around the house and paired with some leg warmers to protect those little legs from carpet burn when she learns to crawl :)
